COMMITTEES
Standing Committees:
House Taxation and Revenue Committee: This committee deals with all issues relating to taxation, fees and other revenues of the state
House Business and Industry Committee: This committee deals with any issues relating to business including rules, fees, practices, etc.
House Rules on Order of Business Committee: This committee deals with the internal rules and order of business in the House of Representatives. It meets when called and is most active during the 30 day session where we consider only fiscal issues. The committee determines if bills are germane or not. It also handles disputes with our internal rules of order in the House.
Interim Committees:
Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy: This committee studies tax ideas and applications throughout the year. It gives legislators an opportunity to learn in depth the intricacies of taxes and their effect on the economy and the revenues of the state.
Legislative Finance Committee, Designee: This committee is the heartbeat of state government and oversees all financial interests of the state. There are 16 on the committee and a designee fills a seat when a regular member is absent.
